Penne Pasta Salad

Pasta salad combines penne pasta with quartered cherry tomatoes, chopped green pepper, chopped green onion, sliced ripe olives, Italian salad dressing, fresh ground black pepper, dill weed, garlic salt and lemon pepper seasoning. Salad should be chilled several hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Ingredients -
1 package Penne Pasta, (16 ounces), cooked al dente, drained, rinsed in cold water
1 cup Cherry Tomatoes, quartered
1/2 cup Green Pepper, chopped
1/4 cup Green Onions, chopped
1 can sliced Ripe Olives, (2-1/4 ounces), drained
1 bottle Italian Salad Dressing, (8 ounces)
1/2 teaspoon Course Ground Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon Dill Weed
1/4 teaspoon Garlic Salt
1/4 teaspoon Lemon Pepper Seasoning
 
Preparation:

1. Combine the vegetables together in a large bowl.

2. Add the pasta to the vegetable mixture.

3. In a small bowl, combine the dressing, black pepper, dill, garlic salt, and lemon pepper.

4. Whisk to combine.

5. Add the dressing mixture to the pasta/vegetable mixture and toss to combine.

6. Chill for 2 hours.

7. Serve.

 



Pasta Salad Making Tips -
Hot Peppers

Handle hot peppers very carefully. When seeding and chopping peppers like serrano, jalapeno and habanero, protect hands by wearing rubber gloves. The oils in hot peppers can irritate the skin. Also, be careful to never touch around your eyes.

When making pasta for pasta salad, boil the pasta, and rinse after cooking. Allow the pasta to cool, and use when ready.
