Tuna Pasta Salad with Cucumbers and Tomato

Rotini pasta tossed with flaked albacore solid white tuna packed in water, thinly sliced cucumber, chopped vine-ripened tomato, sliced celery, chopped green bell pepper, and sliced green onion. Pasta salad recipe is completed with dressing prepared from Italian salad dressing, mayonnaise, prepared mustard, dill weed, coarse salt, and fresh ground black pepper.

Ingredients -
8 ounces Uncooked Rotini Pasta, cooked al dente, drained
2 cans Albacore Solid White Tuna, (6 ounces each), drained and flaked
2 cups thinly sliced Cucumbers
1 large Vine-Ripened Tomato, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup Celery, sliced
1/4 cup Green Bell Pepper, chopped
1/4 cup sliced Green Onions
1 cup bottled Italian Salad Dressing
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Prepared Mustard
1 teaspoon Dill Weed
1 teaspoon Coarse Salt
1/8 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper
 
Preparation:

1. Combine the pasta and next 6 ingredients in a large bowl.

2. Whisk together the dressing, mayo, mustard, dill, salt and pepper in a small bowl.

3. Pour the dressing over the pasta and toss well to combine.

4. Cover and refrigerate for 3 hours.

5. Stir gently before serving.

Albacore Tuna

Albacore solid white tuna has better flavor and texture than its lighter counterparts. The solid variety should be drained well and then broken up with a fork in a small bowl before being added to salads. Watch for sales at your local supermarket and stock up.
